The Teahen Heritage

Dealing with the death of a loved one is one of the most difficult times in the life cycle of any family.  It is a time when friendship, love, and understanding are so important to the surviving family members.

At Teahen Funeral Home we have been helping people through these difficult times ever since our doors opened in 1936.

The Teahen family serves the needs of families of all faiths with a service that is personal and performed in a spirit of caring.

This heritage of service began in January 1936 when Henry and Marian Teahen converted the Teahen family residence at 600 First Avenue NW, into a funeral home.

Following Henry's death in 1966, Marian continued the family tradition and with her son, Peter R. Teahen built a new facility at 3100 F Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids.  A second location was added in Walford in 2003.

Marian Teahen remained active in funeral service until her death in 2007.

The spirit of trust is carried on today by the founder’s son Peter R. Teahen and granddaughter, Elizabeth M. Teahen.
